Wylie City Council reached consensus on the framework for a proposed $90.5 million bond election, giving staff direction to prepare revised ballot language for a November election. The proposed package includes $25.5 million for improvements within the Wylie Downtown Historic District and along Ballard and Sachse roads, $22.5 million for parks and recreation projects, $25 million for public safety facilities, $5.5 million for public works, and a separate $12 million proposition for a new animal shelter.
Bond Package Details
The council members settled on the structure of a five-proposition bond package that will return for approval once the legal election window opens in early August. Bond counsel Bob Dransfield said council can’t officially call the election until the period between Aug. 5 and Aug. 17.
