Woman Faces Charges For Dousing Person With Gasoline

A woman in custody in Alexander County is now facing additional charges in Iredell County, accused of dousing someone with gasoline at a gas station on Island Ford Road in Statesville on June 14.

According to Iredell County Sheriff’s deputies, Christina Dawn Hatcher, 37, got into a verbal confrontation with another person and threw gasoline on them. There were no serious injuries reported. Hatcher was identified through witness statements and surveillance video.

Hatcher was already in custody at the Alexander County Detention Center for breaking-and-entering charges. Her new charges include misdemeanor assault with a deadly weapon and misdemeanor injury to personal property. She will appear in court on August 10 for the gas station incident.
