The 30th annual Wings and Wheels event is coming to Powell on August 14-15. The event, which started as a small car show and fly-in for a group of friends, has grown into one of the highlights of the summer, drawing thousands of visitors to Powell.

This year’s event will feature drag racing, fly-ins, and aerobatics. Two sets of bleachers will be set up for viewers alongside the runway at the Powell Municipal Airport. For the more daring attendees, lawn chairs can be brought to sit next to the flight line and watch the planes fly by.
The weekend’s events will kick off at 4 p.m. on Friday, August 14, with drag racing on the runway, immediately followed by a twilight air show. A swap meet and car show will occur on both Friday and Saturday, with food available for purchase from various on-site vendors.
Festivities will continue on Saturday at 7 a.m., with a pancake breakfast followed by a series of entertaining events, including an airshow with multiple pilots performing stunts.
