Wildfire Near Detroit Lake: Crews Mobilize to Contain Blaze

A wildfire has ignited approximately 2 miles southwest of Detroit Lake in Oregon, as reported by officials on Tuesday afternoon. The blaze, currently estimated to cover between 10 and 15 acres, is located west of the Kinney Creek drainage area and is progressing westward, away from the Detroit community.

Response Efforts Underway

In response to the wildfire, two helicopters and U.S. Forest Service crews, including two engines and two tenders, have been dispatched to the scene. Additionally, an engine and crew from the Willamette National Forest are providing assistance. The Idanha-Detroit Rural Fire Protection District has informed the public via social media that smoke may be visible in the surrounding areas.

As of now, the cause of the fire remains unknown. Fortunately, the fire is burning in a rural area and does not appear to threaten any homes, and no evacuations have been ordered. Residents and visitors in the area are advised to stay informed as this situation develops.
