Former White Sox player Ron Kittle tied the knot with his girlfriend, Barbara, in a ballpark suite with Chicago chairman Jerry Reinsdorf officiating. The ceremony took place during the White Sox’s 10-run third inning against the Royals.
Kittle, the 1983 AL Rookie of the Year, said his better half prefers to keep a low profile, but he invited some former teammates, including Harold Baines and Greg Walker, to attend the quick ceremony.
The 1983 White Sox team, which won the AL West, was honored before the game. Kittle also mentioned that he is ordained and officiated a wedding in the outfield last season on Bill Veeck Day.
