Pull into the main lot off ASP Route 1 and you are immediately greeted by a scene that feels almost theatrical in its beauty: a wide, calm lake ringed by second-growth hardwood forest, a classic park bathhouse, and a sandy swimming beach that draws families every summer weekend without ever feeling overcrowded.
The swimming beach alone is worth the trip on a warm July afternoon, but the real draw for me is the paddling. Bradford sits close enough that you can drive down for a single afternoon and feel thoroughly restored, or you can plant yourself for a full weekend and wonder why you ever left.
