U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar was leading in the Democratic primary for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District with 76.3% of the vote, as of 9:45 p.m. CT. Omar, a leading figure in the progressive bloc of the Democratic Party, is seeking reelection for a fifth term.
Minnesota Congressional Districts
In the 2nd Congressional District, Matt Little, a former member of the Minnesota Senate, led the Democratic field with 47.3% of the vote. Little will face Republican nominee Eric Pratt in the November general election.
In the 1st Congressional District, incumbent Rep. Brad Finstad won the Republican nomination with 90.4% of the vote. He will face Democratic nominee Jake Johnson in the general election.
In the 6th Congressional District, Rep. Tom Emmer won the Republican nomination with 81.3% of the vote. He will face Democratic nominee Doug Chapin in the general election.
