Maurice Mercer has won the Democratic nomination for U.S. House District 6, according to the Associated Press. Mercer, who has served on the Pelham City Council, including as council president, will face incumbent Republican U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer in November.
Palmer was first elected to the seat in 2014. Mercer had about 64% of the vote in the four-candidate Democratic primary.
