Western Kentucky Student Honored

A Western Kentucky University student was honored at the 66th Hearst National Journalism Awards Program in San Francisco. Myah Griffin, a student at Western Kentucky University, was a finalist in the multimedia category.

Griffin spent a week in San Francisco alongside 28 other college students from across the country to compete for scholarships. Students created content across different mediums and are judged by a panel of professionals in the journalism field.

"I think participating in Hearst is a unique and amazing experience and I'm really honored to be here and have this opportunity. I don't think there is anything else like it," Griffin said.

Griffin, alongside three other finalists in the category, received $1,500.
