During a two-day operation beginning July 25th, the Washougal Police Department arrested two individuals for attempting to sexually exploit children. The operation, which used undercover online communications, resulted in the arrest of Ryan A. Colvert and William Galeana Jovis, both from Oregon.
Operation Details
The suspects negotiated and arranged to meet with what they believed to be a minor child to exchange money for sexual activity. No actual minor was involved in the undercover communications. The individuals were taken into custody by Washougal Police Officers at a predetermined location in Washougal.
The primary offenses investigated were attempted rape of a minor. The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information concerning these suspects or other suspected exploitation of children is encouraged to contact the Washougal Police Department.
