The Freedom Day Bash, a free community event, will take place on Wednesday, July 15, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Tuscaloosa River Market. Backpacks filled with school supplies will be available while supplies last.
Event Details
Last year’s event gave away 400 backpacks and drew an estimated 750 people. Organizers expect an even larger crowd this year as the annual event continues to grow. Along with free school supplies, families can connect with community resources, participate in giveaways, and enjoy activities throughout the day.
Big Dawg DreDay will provide the soundtrack for the event. Families are strongly encouraged to arrive early, as backpacks and school supplies will only be available while supplies last. Organizers are also still accepting donations of bottled water to help keep families, volunteers, and vendors hydrated.
