Tuscaloosa’s own Comedian LP is officially one of the final eight comedians standing in the 2026 Alabama’s Funniest Person Competition. LP, co-host of The Big Dawg DreDay Show in the Morning with Comedian LP, will take the stage this Sunday at the Stardome for the finals, competing for the title of Alabama’s Funniest Person and a $3,500 prize.

Competition Background

More than 150 aspiring comedians entered this year’s competition, armed with their own original material and hoping to prove they are among the funniest in the state. That field has now been narrowed to just eight finalists, including LP.

And if you know LP, you know he had to put his own spin on making it this far. “I might be the shortest comedian in the competition but I’ve come too far to come up short now,” LP said. “4-Foot Giant planting footprints of success every step of the way.”
