Tulsa kicked off Independence Day in a big way this year with the annual Folds of Honor FreedomFest, a beloved community celebration that drew crowds together for an evening of patriotic festivities and fireworks.
Organizers announced that the fireworks display was set to launch as early as 8:30 p.m., giving families and attendees plenty to look forward to as the sun went down over the city. The event, covered by both the Tulsa World and News On 6, has become a cherished Fourth of July tradition in the area.
FreedomFest is organized by Folds of Honor, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing educational scholarships to the spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members. The annual celebration gives the Tulsa community a chance to come together in a spirit of gratitude and patriotism while supporting a meaningful cause.
While storms later in the evening prompted some other Green Country fireworks shows to be rescheduled, the FreedomFest event had already generated excitement and community spirit throughout the day. It stands as a reminder of how Tulsa consistently rallies around events that honor service, celebrate freedom, and bring neighbors together.
Whether you attended in person or watched from a nearby hillside, FreedomFest once again proved that Tulsa knows how to celebrate the Fourth — with heart, community, and a sky full of fireworks.
