Tucker Carlson: Trump Felt Trapped After Failed Iran Strategy

Tucker Carlson, in a recent Sky News broadcast, revealed details about his discussions with Donald Trump regarding a military conflict with Iran that began about four months ago. Carlson stated that Trump’s stance toward Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shifted significantly after the failed strategy to force a regime change in Iran.

Carlson’s Warning to Trump

Carlson explained that he spent the month leading up to the conflict arguing against the operation, traveling to Washington three times to speak with Trump. He warned Trump about the realistic risks of the move, including the endangerment of the U.S. dollar and potential American deaths. Despite these warnings, Trump proceeded with the action.

When asked why Trump chose to proceed, Carlson noted the lack of clear internal pressure from top U.S. officials. Instead, Trump relied heavily on Israeli assurances over American intelligence. Carlson believes that Trump was convinced that killing the Ayatollah would collapse the country, despite U.S. intelligence agencies warning that this outcome was unlikely.

Aftermath of the Failed Operation

According to Carlson, when the operation failed to trigger a collapse within a few days, Trump’s disposition shifted rapidly. Trump felt trapped, knowing that the American economy and global economy were at stake. Carlson stated that Trump immediately blamed Netanyahu for the failure.

Carlson described his own perspective on American foreign policy as evolving, shaped by recent travel. He characterized the U.S. global presence as an unsustainable empire that does not serve the interests of the republic. Carlson emphasized that foreign military operations consume resources better spent on domestic challenges.
