Trader Joe’s, a national grocery store chain, plans to open a new location in the Anneslie Shopping Center on York Road near the Baltimore City-Baltimore County line. The store will replace the former Party City retail space.

The Anneslie Shopping Center, located at 6401 York Road, has a rich history, having once been home to a Stewart & Co. department store and later a Caldor’s. The shopping center currently features a variety of retailers and service providers, including Petco, M&T Bank, Panera Bread, and MedStar Health Urgent Care.
The new Trader Joe’s location will be the fifth in the Baltimore area, joining existing stores in Annapolis, Columbia, Pikesville, and The Shops at Kenilworth in Towson. The store is expected to open before the end of the year, although an exact date has not been announced. Alcohol will not be sold at this location.
