Lola, a therapy dog, has been a part of Epsom Central School in New Hampshire for 15 years, serving as an assistant to the school’s occupational therapist. Recently, she graduated with the school’s eighth-grade class. The students wanted Lola to attend the graduation, and the adults made it happen.
Lola has been a big figure at the school over the years, visiting a few days per week. According to Lisa Freeman, who works at the school, “Kids come in and see her, she wanders the halls, she takes snuggles, and pats and kisses from anybody, including staff.” Freeman also mentioned that Lola was especially helpful during the COVID-19 pandemic by appearing in videos for the kids.
The students and staff at Epsom Central School appreciate Lola’s presence, and she has become an integral part of their community. As Freeman said, “They absolutely love her and really appreciate her being a part of our district,”
