Texas Tech University has introduced a new seating policy for home football games, replacing the first-come, first-served system with a reservation-based system. This change was made after the university surveyed over 800 students, with the majority favoring the new system.
Red Raider Loyalty Program
The new policy is part of the Red Raider Loyalty Program, which allows students to guarantee seats at home games. Students can reserve seats through the Red Raiders mobile app using their eRaider login information.
The reservation process opens every Sunday during the football season, from 7 a.m. to midnight, for the upcoming game. Students must claim their reserved seats by 5 p.m. on Monday. If a student misses the deadline, they will be placed on a waitlist for the next available seat.
A standby line will be available for students who did not reserve a seat, but they must arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the game. The university has also introduced a points system, where students earn points based on their academic standing and attendance at sports events. These points will determine the priority of seat reservations.
