The Teton County Library will host a free Japanese taiko drum performance by Peaceful Forest, a high-energy drumming group composed of world-renowned drummer Takumi Kato and his three children.
Peaceful Forest Performance Details
The performance will take place at noon on Wednesday, June 17, in the library’s Ordway Auditorium. The traditional drum performance will be followed by a Japanese lion dance, in which the ‘lion’ engages audience members by pretending to bite people’s heads, meant to bring good luck and ward off evil.
Peaceful Forest aspires to deliver 1,000 shows across all 50 states over four years to promote peace and harmony, with their current tour wrapping up this fall.
