A Stedman police officer was dragged by a dirt bike after the driver fled a checkpoint on Carol Street. The incident occurred around 4:50 p.m. when the dirt bike rider approached the checkpoint and then fled from officers.
Police chased the dirt bike before it crashed on Beaverdam Road. When an officer tried to arrest the driver, the driver got back on the dirt bike and dragged the officer. The officer suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated and released from the hospital.
