A domestic violence warrant turned into an hours-long standoff in St. Matthews on Friday. Police went to serve the warrant to a home in the area of Taggart and McArthur Drives, near the Planet Fitness, around 8:30 a.m.
The suspect then barricaded himself, prompting SWAT officers to be called. St. Matthews police said eventually, SWAT busted a window on the house and used a flash bang. When they entered the home, they said the man had shot himself.
He was taken out of the home on a stretcher just before 4 p.m. His condition was not immediately available. St. Matthews police said no officers drew their weapons and no one else was hurt.
