Southern California is gearing up to celebrate America’s 250th birthday with a plethora of events across the region. From patriotic parades to dazzling fireworks displays, there’s something for everyone to enjoy on this special day.
Local Events
Gloria Molina Grand Park in Los Angeles will host the largest free Fourth of July celebration on the West Coast, featuring live music, DJ performances, dance shows, food trucks, and a drone display. The annual Fourth of July celebration in Huntington Beach, which claims to be the largest Independence Day celebration west of the Mississippi, will feature a parade, carnival, and fireworks over the ocean.
The 79th Palisades July 4th Celebration, one of the oldest Independence Day festivals in Southern California, will return with a parade and drone show after an 18-month hiatus. Other notable events include the July 4th Benefit Show at the LA Memorial Coliseum, the 4th of July Show in Burbank, and the Stars, Stripes, and Sounds Festival in Dana Point.
More Celebrations
Long Beach will host a weeklong celebration called Shining LBC: America’s 250, featuring fireworks at the waterfront and other festivities. The Beach Boys will perform at the Hollywood Bowl on July 2-4, accompanied by a fireworks spectacular each night. Cinespia will screen ‘Jurassic Park’ at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery on July 4, followed by a fireworks display.
Marina del Rey will offer multiple viewing spots for its Fourth of July fireworks, with synchronized music available at Fisherman’s Village or Burton Chace Park. The Great American Kids’ Bike Parade will take place in Long Beach, where children can decorate their bikes and participate in the festivities.
Councilmember Bob Blumenfield’s July 4th Extravaganza at Warner Park will feature live music, games, and a 20-minute fireworks show. Knott’s Berry Farm, Disneyland, Universal Studios Hollywood, and Six Flags Magic Mountain will also host their own Fourth of July celebrations, complete with fireworks and other attractions.
