Slick City Action Park plans October opening at Deerbrook Marketplace in Humble

Humble families can look forward to a new indoor recreation destination as Slick City Action Park targets an October opening for its second Texas location. The park will occupy roughly 40,000 square feet inside Deerbrook Marketplace, according to a September 15 news release.

What the park will offer

The Humble venue will include 13 large‑scale slides that rise up to 20 feet, providing thrills for children and adults alike. In addition, three dedicated air courts will host sports such as dodgeball and soccer, giving youth groups and casual players a safe, climate‑controlled space.

Beyond the slides and courts, the center will feature a trapeze rig, a soft‑play area for younger children, a net‑course obstacle challenge, and a pyramid attraction that encourages active play and family interaction.

Local business expansion

Owners Chris and Mandy Bush are expanding their family‑focused entertainment brand after successfully launching the original Slick City Action Park in The Woodlands. The new Humble location reflects growing demand for indoor, all‑weather activities in the Greater Houston area, especially as schools and community groups seek safe venues for after‑school programs and weekend outings.

Deerbrook Marketplace, a well‑known shopping and dining hub in Humble, will benefit from increased foot traffic, while the park will create new jobs ranging from front‑desk staff to maintenance and activity coordinators. The Bush family anticipates hiring locally and partnering with nearby schools for field‑trip opportunities.

Community response

Local residents have expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming attraction, noting that it adds a family‑friendly option without requiring a long drive to The Woodlands or other suburban entertainment centers. Parents appreciate the indoor setting, which offers a climate‑controlled environment during Texas’s hot summers and occasional winter storms.

City officials have not yet required any special permits beyond standard commercial lease agreements, and the project appears to be proceeding smoothly. The park’s developers have emphasized safety protocols, including regular equipment inspections and staff training, to ensure a secure experience for all visitors.

Looking ahead

With construction already underway, the park’s management expects to welcome its first guests by early October. A grand‑opening celebration is planned, featuring discounted admission, live music, and promotional giveaways for the first wave of visitors.

For families seeking a new venue for birthdays, school outings, or simply a weekend adventure, Slick City Action Park promises a blend of excitement and community spirit that aligns with Humble’s growing reputation as a family‑oriented city.
