Shreveport’s 39th Annual ‘Let the Good Times Roll’ Festival Brings Gospel and Community Wellness to Juneteenth Celebrations

Shreveport is ringing in Juneteenth with a beloved community tradition: the 39th Annual Let the Good Times Roll Festival. According to KSLA, this year’s celebration is centered on gospel music and community wellness, making it one of the most meaningful editions yet of a festival that has been bringing the Shreveport community together for nearly four decades.

The festival’s Juneteenth focus adds special significance to an already cherished local event, blending uplifting music with health and wellness resources for residents across the area. It’s the kind of gathering that reminds Shreveporters of the deep cultural roots and community spirit that define this city.

Juneteenth festivities aren’t stopping there. KTBS 3 reports that Shreveport also kicked off its America 250 series with a special Juneteenth program, marking the beginning of a broader series of events tied to the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary. The Shreveport-Bossier City Advocate also highlighted five Juneteenth events taking place across the Shreveport-Bossier area, giving families and neighbors plenty of ways to come together and celebrate.

Whether you’re drawn by the gospel performances, the wellness activities, or simply the joy of community, this Juneteenth season is shaping up to be a memorable one for the ArkLaTex. Shreveport’s longstanding tradition of celebrating together is on full display — and after 39 years, the Good Times Roll Festival shows no signs of slowing down.
