Seminole County Boy Leads Lego Drive

A 9-year-old Seminole County boy, Elliot Pritsker, is turning his cancer fight into a joyful experience for other kids by collecting Legos for those in the hospital. Elliot, a student at English Estates Elementary in Fern Park, found comfort in building with Legos during his long hospital stays. He is now leading a school-wide Lego drive to donate to young patients at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital.

Elliott’s Journey

Elliott’s family said that what initially seemed like a sports-related stress fracture led to a life-changing diagnosis of B-cell ALL acute lymphoblastic leukemia in February 2024. Throughout his intense treatment, Elliott found solace in building with Legos, which brought him comfort and a sense of control.

With the help of his teachers, Elliot launched the Lego drive at his school, and the response has been overwhelming. Students have been bringing in Legos, and the school even had a competition to see who could donate the most. Elliot’s family and community have also been supportive, with his mom and other family members donating boxes of Legos.

Elliott plans to drop off the collected Legos at the hospital in August, and his goal is to bring joy to other kids who are going through a tough time. His selfless act has earned him the title of WESH 2 CommUNITY Champion, and his story is an inspiration to many.

A Call to Action

Elliott’s story highlights the importance of giving back to the community, especially to those who are in need. His Lego drive is a great way to bring joy to hospitalized kids, and it’s a reminder that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. If you’re inspired by Elliot’s story, consider donating a box of Legos to support his cause.
