The San Jose Sharks signed defenseman Jacob Trouba to a four-year, $33 million contract and goaltender Eric Comrie to a two-year, $2.3 million deal.
Trouba’s Decision
Trouba, 32, collected 35 points (10 goals, 25 assists) and 31 penalty minutes in 81 regular-season games with Anaheim last season. He led the Ducks with 149 blocked shots and was third with 143 hits.
Trouba said the Sharks’ talent and skill were reasons for choosing to sign with San Jose. He also mentioned the length of the contract as an incentive, citing the importance of term and security for his family.
Comrie’s Signing
Comrie, 30, was 12-11-1 with a 3.13 goals-against average and .890 save percentage in 25 games (24 starts) with the Jets last season.
