Nikola Vucevic, a veteran big man, has signed with the Orlando Magic for his second stint with the franchise. The Magic did not disclose contract terms, but Vucevic agreed to a one-year, $3.9 million deal, according to an ESPN report.
Career Highlights
Vucevic spent 8 1/2 seasons with Orlando in his first stint with the team and was a two-time All-Star. He averaged a double-double in six of his eight full seasons with the Magic.
Vucevic was traded to the Chicago Bulls before the 2021 trade deadline and spent five seasons with the Bulls before being traded to the Boston Celtics prior to last season’s trade deadline. He averaged 15.1 points and 8.4 rebounds in 64 overall games but his numbers were just 9.7 and 6.6, respectively, in 16 games with Boston.
The 35-year-old Vucevic was drafted by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft and was traded to Orlando after his rookie campaign. Vucevic has career averages of 17.1 points and 10.3 rebounds and has knocked down 998 3-pointers in 1,036 games.
