Sen. Josh Hawley, R-Mo., has received a letter from MLB commissioner Rob Manfred regarding the San Francisco Giants players who wrote Bible verses on their Pride Night caps. The players will not face any discipline for their actions.
Religious Liberty Protected
Hawley, who appeared on ‘The Will Cain Show,’ expressed satisfaction with the response from Manfred and MLB. The commissioner admitted that players are entitled to express their religious beliefs and will not be disciplined or fined for doing so.
Hawley emphasized that this is a ‘great outcome’ and that he is glad MLB has admitted its wrongdoing. He noted that the First Amendment protects players’ religious liberty rights and that no player will be required to wear uniforms with political messaging.
