Santa Barbara County Awaits Final Election Results as Ballot Counting Continues

In Santa Barbara County, the election process continues as thousands of ballots from Tuesday’s election remain to be counted. These ballots, which include those from in-person voters, mail-in ballots, and drop-off locations, were not included in the initial results released last night.

Ongoing Ballot Counting

The Santa Barbara County election office has announced that they will provide an update on the number of remaining ballots by Wednesday afternoon. New results from the ongoing count will be made available on the News Channel 3-12 Voter Guide.

For many voters, participating in the election was a meaningful experience. Christine Medina, a local voter, expressed the importance of feeling connected to the community and the state through voting. Roy Barncastle, another voter, emphasized the significance of personally delivering his ballot to ensure it is counted and to support a reliable voting system.

Election Day Details

Ballots postmarked by election day will be counted if they are received within seven days after the election. The voter turnout on Tuesday afternoon was approximately 67,000 in Santa Barbara County. The county aims to certify the election results by July 2nd, after which they will be sent to the Secretary of State.

As the community awaits the final results, the importance of each vote and the integrity of the election process remain at the forefront of local discussions.
