The ‘World’s Largest Swimming Lesson’ event will take place Thursday morning at Rapids Water Park in Riviera Beach, emphasizing the importance of teaching children to swim and preventing drowning.
Local Participation
This year, the Live Like Jake Foundation is partnering with Rapids Water Park to host one of the lessons, with about 50 to 55 kids in the water ranging from 4 to 13 years of age who do not know how to swim.
‘It’s just super important no matter the age. If you’re gonna live here in Florida, you must know how to swim,’ said Keri Morrison, executive director and founder of the Live Like Jake Foundation.
Lessons will be held at pools across the area, with the event at Rapids Water Park scheduled for Thursday morning from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
