The Texas Rangers have acquired catcher Logan O’Hoppe and relief pitcher Chase Silseth from the Los Angeles Angels. In return, the Angels will receive minor league prospect Angel Arredondo.
Rangers’ Roster Moves
O’Hoppe, 26, has appeared in 386 games over the past five years with the Angels, with a .227 career batting average. Silseth, also 26, has a 3-2 record with a 2.72 ERA over 47 appearances this season.
The Rangers, currently in first place in the AL West with a 55-53 record, were in need of a catcher due to injuries to Danny Jansen and Kyle Higashioka. O’Hoppe will start in Triple-A Round Rock, while Silseth will join the active roster.
