Bossier Parish Schools will kick off the 2026-2027 academic year in early August with updated registration procedures, key calendar dates, and campus orientation sessions.
Registration and Calendar Dates
Required online registration for all new and returning students in Kindergarten through 12th grade opened July 15. Parents and guardians must complete annual registration forms and clear applicable fees before the start of classes.
Teachers in Bossier Parish return for in-service training days next Tuesday and Wednesday. The official first day of school for students in grades 1 through 12 is next Thursday.
Staggered Start Schedule
Younger learners follow a staggered start schedule. The first full day of class for Kindergarten students is Aug. 13. Pre-K students begin their full schedule on Aug. 20.
Students enrolled in the Bossier Schools Virtual Learning Program must participate in mandatory orientation sessions scheduled between next Wednesday and Aug. 10. Families will pay a $10 technology fee for district-issued Chromebook devices during those sessions.
Individual campuses across Bossier Parish are holding teacher meet-and-greet sessions ahead of the start date. School administrators advise parents to review updated dress codes and supply requirements on individual school websites.
The first quarter grading period for the new school year will wrap up on Oct. 2.
