Rainfall Improves Drought in Palm Beach County

Recent rainfall has improved drought conditions in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast. The latest drought monitor, released today, indicates that drought conditions have improved in the area.

Drought Conditions

WPBF First Warning Meteorologist Nikki Sheaks reports that the extreme drought shaded in red has diminished across South Florida, with just a little bit left in southern portions of Okeechobee County. The area has seen some much-needed improvement thanks to inches of rainfall accumulated over the last week.

However, more rain is still needed to see the drought go away altogether. Fortunately, scattered showers and storms are forecasted over the next seven days, with about two inches of accumulation expected.
