In Kansas, state Sen. Cindy Holscher defeated state Sen. Ethan Corson in the Democratic primary for governor. Holscher will face state Senate President Ty Masterson, who easily won the GOP primary with Trump’s endorsement. In Missouri, moderate Rep. Wesley Bell easily fended off former Rep. Cori Bush, a democratic socialist, in a rematch.
In Virginia, voters chose their nominees in key congressional races. And in Washington state, voters set the matchups in several races. Republicans also failed to pass ballot measures in Missouri and Kansas, with voters rejecting efforts to make it more difficult to pass ballot measures and to make state Supreme Court justices popularly elected.
