Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) in El Paso County, Colorado, will operate under a Secure Status on Friday, August 14, following a high-concern threat. The college confirmed that all PPSC campuses will remain open for faculty and staff, but all campus doors will be locked, and only faculty and staff will be allowed on campus.
Investigation Underway
The threat is under active investigation, and officers are working with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. The college said the Secure Status will provide law enforcement partners additional time to investigate the threat. Students, faculty, and staff may also see an increased law enforcement presence on PPSC campuses in the coming days.
PPSC said normal operations are expected to resume Saturday, August 15, unless circumstances change. The college will notify the campus community of any updates. Anyone with information about threats made against PPSC is asked to contact PPSC Police at 719-502-2900.
