PHI Air Medical Cedar Creek has expanded its services to include advanced in-flight care for critically ill patients, including those experiencing severe respiratory distress, pulmonary hypertension, or organ failure.
New Services
The Cedar Creek base is the first air medical service in Central Texas to provide routine, independent transports involving inhaled epoprostenol, which can help patients with severe respiratory failure. The base has also added high-flow nasal cannula, inhaled nitric oxide, and extracorporeal membrane oxygenation transport services for patients with respiratory or organ failure.
Bastrop County residents will not have to pay out-of-pocket for flight costs when picked up and transported within a seven-county service area, thanks to an agreement with Bastrop County Emergency Services District No. 3. Residents can also upgrade their benefit to no out-of-pocket costs nationwide for $40 annually.
CEO Christopher Hardman praised the crew at the Cedar Creek base, saying they provide a service that goes above and beyond in every facet of their role.
