Person In Custody After Mattapoisett Shooting

A person of interest is in custody after a reported shooting in Mattapoisett, Massachusetts. The Mattapoisett Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Harbor Beach shortly after 3 p.m. on Tuesday.

The person of interest led police on a pursuit into neighboring Marion, according to department officials. Authorities did not give any information about potential injuries.

Police said that the case is believed to be an isolated incident and that there are no concerns for public safety. The Mattapoisett police are investigating alongside Massachusetts State police and the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office.
