A intense baseball brawl broke out at Fenway Park on Tuesday night. The Red Sox and Nationals were playing when the incident occurred.
The Incident
The trouble started in the fourth inning when Nationals right-hander Cade Cavalli struck out Red Sox player Willson Contreras. Contreras became frustrated and charged the mound, leading to a benches-clearing scuffle.
Contreras eventually broke free from the players trying to hold him back and reignited the chaos. At one point, he hurled his batting helmet directly at Cavalli.
The umpires issued several ejections, including Contreras, Red Sox outfielder Nate Eaton, interim manager Chad Tracy, and Washington pitcher Miles Mikolas.
This incident came after Contreras was ejected from a game the previous night for giving a sarcastic gesture to an umpire.
