The Baltimore Orioles activated catcher Adley Rutschman and right fielder Dylan Beavers, placing both in the starting lineup for Sunday’s series finale against the visiting Washington Nationals.
Orioles Roster Moves
Rutschman, a two-time All-Star, had been on the 7-day concussion IL after being struck in the head by an errant throw on June 18. He was hitting .254 with eight home runs and 40 RBIs this season in 54 games.
Beavers, 24, played six games on a rehab assignment, splitting time between Triple-A and Double-A Chesapeake. A first-round draft pick by Baltimore in 2022, Beavers is hitting .243 with two home runs and 12 RBIs over 33 games in his first full season in the majors.
To open a pair of spots on the active roster, the Orioles optioned infielder/outfielder Jeremiah Jackson to Triple-A Norfolk and designated catcher Sam Huff for assignment.
