A fire at a duplex in Olathe, Kansas, displaced 7 people on Sunday evening. The Olathe Fire Department responded to the scene at 1327 E. 152nd St., near Olathe South High School.
The fire was contained to one unit in the duplex, but damage was significant. An edited video posted by the Olathe Fire Department showed the back of the duplex with a charred exterior and destroyed deck.
The Olathe Police Department and Johnson County Med-Act paramedics also responded to the scene to assist. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The Olathe Fire Department reminded residents to check their home’s smoke alarms by pressing the test button.
