James Taylor, a teacher at Little Axe Public Schools and state superintendent candidate, is facing criticism for using school resources to record a campaign ad. The ad was filmed in his classroom, prompting a response from the district and Taylor.
Response from the District
In a statement, Little Axe Superintendent Jay Thomas said Taylor used school resources to create the campaign material without permission. Thomas also said that Little Axe Public Schools does not endorse any candidate for office, including its own employees.
Taylor responded to the allegations, saying he did not intend to misuse school resources and takes responsibility for his actions. He explained that he tried to remove the video from his social media platforms after the concern was raised but was unable to do so before the superintendent issued a public statement.
