Sam’s Best Buys, a southwest Oklahoma City institution since 1945, is set to close its doors by December as owner Harvey Goldstein prepares for retirement.
A Legacy of Community Service
The store has been a community fixture for decades, making news in 1989 as shoppers prepared for colder weather. Goldstein said the store’s success has always been rooted in how they treat their customers.
For 80 years, we treat our customers like neighbors. We fit you like a tailor, and we give you prices that nobody could beat, Goldstein said.
After decades of hard work, Goldstein said it is time to step away. Before closing, Goldstein plans to sell off the store’s remaining inventory and hopes to complete the process by December.
As the business winds down, Goldstein expressed his gratitude to the community for their support over the years. I thank all the Oklahomans for 80 years of shopping with us; it’s been wonderful. We appreciate it so very much, he said.
