Restore OKC, a nonprofit in northeast Oklahoma City, has been selected to join a Harvard program aimed at building stronger support systems for children and families. The initiative focuses on bringing together schools, nonprofits, churches, and community organizations to create stronger support systems.
Community Impact
Jonathan Veal, managing director of Restore OKC, expressed his excitement about the recognition. “We’re going to Harvard,” he said. Latasha Timberlake, director of education at Restore OKC, emphasized the importance of the opportunity, stating that it will allow them to work on creating a community program to support educational needs for local youth.
The initiative also allows Restore OKC to learn from other organizations across the country and bring new ideas back to their community. Representatives from Restore OKC will travel to Boston next month as the two-year Harvard initiative officially begins.
