About 20 cars parked on a North Hollywood street were broken into Thursday in what appears to be a string of overnight thefts.
Neighbors told NBCLA they awoke to find their car windows smashed and items missing from inside the vehicles, which were parked in the area of Erwin Street off Cahuenga Boulevard.
A row of cars had side windows shattered with glass on the sidewalk and inside the cars. Los Angeles police received a report at about 5 a.m. of someone breaking into cars.
One woman said every car targeted appeared to have the passenger-side window shattered, including her vehicle. She said items were missing from the glove compartment, seat pocket and other areas inside the car.
No arrests were reported. The LAPD encouraged victims to visit the police station and bring video of the damage.
