Cancer Diagnosis and Treatment
Polizzi, a 38-year-old mom of three, had been struggling with abnormal Pap smears for three or four years before her cancer diagnosis. She urged her fans and followers to get routine screenings, saying, ‘I’m literally telling you guys to get your Pap smears done.’ Her cancer diagnosis was confirmed after a cone biopsy, which is a procedure that removes a cone-shaped wedge of abnormal tissue from the cervix.
Polizzi’s surgery included the removal of her cervix and parts of her vagina. She shared vulnerable feelings in the video while talking about the surgery, saying it’s ‘very scary.’ The hope is that she’ll be cancer-free after the surgery.
