In a recent interview on “My View with Lara Trump,” Grammy‑nominated rapper Nicki Minaj called on young Americans to participate fully in the upcoming 2026 midterm elections. She emphasized that voting is the only way for citizens to have a say in the direction of the country and the world.
“Now is not the time to think that your voice will not be heard,” Minaj said. “Your voice is very necessary right now for the country and for the world. We need you involved more than ever before. This is your country, this is your world. You are the ones that have to reap the benefits of whatever vote decisions we make now.”
Vote red in every race
Minaj urged listeners to look beyond the presidential race and cast ballots in all local and state contests. “Think about how much you want a say in what happens and realize that the only way to have that is by voting — not just voting for the president, but voting in all of the local elections,” she added.
She then directly appealed to young voters to support Republican candidates, saying, “Please, and vote red now.”
Support for President Trump
Minaj’s message aligns with her growing public endorsement of President Trump. She recently served as a celebrity judge for the Small Business Administration’s Million Dollar Pitch Competition, a program backed by the Trump administration.
President Trump praised Minaj as a “fantastic person,” and Minaj described him as “a very authentic person” who brings a candid, unedited vibe to the White House. “When you see someone that goes off script, it’s like you come alive again, you feel alive,” she said.
She also criticized Democrats, claiming they have become overly focused on pop culture and act “like children” in their political discourse.
Personal story and American dream
Reflecting on her own journey, Minaj said her fan base has witnessed her rise from humble beginnings. “My fan base, they got to see me come from absolutely nothing. They really saw the struggle in real time,” she said, adding that her experience embodies the American dream and her love for the United States.
