A Nicholas County woman, Becky Sams, is frustrated after two dogs attacked and killed her 8-year-old cat, Kitty Dory, on her porch. The incident occurred on August 4, just before 7 a.m.
Local Officials’ Response
Sams claims the same dogs have also killed three other cats in her neighborhood. She contacted the judge-executive, who told her the matter was the city’s responsibility, not the county’s. Carlisle Mayor Ronnie Clark stated that Sams’ only option is to settle the matter with the dogs’ owner.
Sams, a widow who considers her animals as family, is devastated by the loss of her cat. She expects local officials to do more to protect residents and their pets.
