The rift between Aiyuk and the 49ers began when the team voided the remaining guaranteed money on his extension after he failed to participate in rehab sessions for a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus in his right knee. The 49ers then placed Aiyuk on the reserve/left team list in December after he stopped attending team facilities.
