The Montgomery City Council is addressing the problem of unsanctioned parties at short-term rental properties. The council voted to require renters to get a permit from the city in order to have parties and gatherings.
Concerns Over Safety and Noise
City Council President C.C. Calhoun says the city has a lot of Airbnb locations and other rental properties that are being used for unsanctioned parties. He says the parties have caused traffic and noise issues as well as safety concerns in neighborhoods throughout Montgomery.
Calhoun says the ordinance will go into effect once the mayor signs it and the council advertises what the permitting process will be.
