The Montgomery Regional Airport has officially unveiled its newly renovated baggage claim area. The approximately $5 million project, funded through the Federal Aviation Administration’s Airport Terminal Program, replaces the airport’s aging baggage claim system with modern infrastructure designed to improve efficiency, reliability, and passenger convenience.
Project Details
The completed project includes two new baggage claim carousels, an oversized baggage claim area, renovated rental car customer service counters, and updated flooring, lighting and passenger amenities. Construction remained active while the terminal continued normal airport operations throughout the 18-month project, requiring temporary adjustments to passenger circulation and baggage delivery.
The baggage claim renovation is one of several improvements taking place under the airport’s Momentum Initiative, a long-term effort focused on modernizing facilities, improving operational efficiency, and creating an enhanced travel experience for passengers.
