As her reign as Miss Texas 2025 nears its conclusion, Sadie Schiermeyer is reflecting on a year of travel, service, and success on the national stage. Schiermeyer finished as first runner-up in September at the Miss America competition, where she represented Texas and showcased her platform, talent, and poise before a national audience.
A Year of Service
Looking back on her year as Miss Texas, Schiermeyer said the opportunity to connect with people across the state has been the most rewarding part of the experience. “We come from a state that is so diverse. It has so many different walks of life, and so getting to experience that and meet everybody has been so special,” she said.
Among the more memorable moments of her travels, Schiermeyer said she had the chance to hold rattlesnakes during a visit to a rattlesnake roundup. At the Miss America competition, Schiermeyer said her nerves were greatest during the preliminary rounds rather than the finals.
Future Plans
While her pageant schedule is winding down, Schiermeyer said she has little time planned for relaxation. She said she will begin working as a kindergarten teacher in the coming school year and will also start graduate school at Dallas Baptist University to pursue a counseling degree.
